How to Revise for JEE/NEET effectively –

* It needs to be comfortable, you work best if you are relaxed.

* It needs to be free from distractions – NOT while watching TV. If you are using a computer, close any windows that may distract you (eg. Facebook, game sites, etc.).

* If you want, and are doing a long session, have a drink(preferably water – it will help you focus) and maybe a small snack.

* Walk around while you try to revise your notes.

* Read your notes aloud. (This will going to help you)

* Mnemonic technique (a short rhyme, phrase, or other mental technique for making information easier to memorize) is an excellent way of remembering the terms. Mnemonics help you to remember by using short words that stand for something.

* Complete any outstanding coursework as soon as possible.

* Practice sample questions under examination conditions.

* Have a revision

Chemistry short Notes

Physical Chemistry – Candidates are advised to maintain a diary for quick revision of simple formulas pertaining to chapters like atomic structure, solid-state, ionic equilibrium, electrochemistry and thermochemistry. Also, keep in mind the situations where these formulae cannot be applied directly. An extra effort should be given to the topics mentioned above as more questions are often asked from these topics. Also, remember to study the values of log 2 (0.3010) and log 3 (0.4771) as they often come up during calculations.

Organic chemistryIn this part, candidates have to focus on various name reactions that they have come across and their mechanism. As per the experts, reactions like Ozonolysis, Aldol, Cannizzaro, Perkin and Hoffmann’s should be thoroughly understood and questions related to them should be practised regularly. Special focus should be on GOC (General Organic Chemistry). One should be good at comparing the stability of reaction intermediates and questions related to acidity and basicity. Isomerism and Organic compounds containing Oxygen should be studied in detail. Lastly, one should remember tests of the various functional groups.

Inorganic Chemistry: Here again one should maintain a diary for noting down trivial facts pertaining to the formula of ores and composition of alloys which often come up in objective tests. Besides this, the focus should be on chapters like chemical bonding, p block elements and coordination chemistry from where the bulk of questions are asked.
